Curriculum Vitae

I am an associate teaching professor at Florida International University, where I offer face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses in multicultural literature, speculative fiction, narrative theory, and popular culture.

Whirling around science fiction, narratology, and Judaic mythology, my scholarship explores the fiction-science forest in quest of analogous patterns. My article on this subject, “Mapping with Fi-Sci,” is forthcoming in the Narratologies of Science special issue of the Journal of Narrative Theory; it is adapted from my monograph-in-progress, which is under advance contract with the Ohio State University Press.

My research and teaching are instantiated in FIU's Science & Fiction Lab, recipient of a 2023 Humanities Initiatives award from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
